- Inspired by watch shapes and designs of the 1970s, the Dumas represents a more muscular form in dive watch design. Taking its name from the famed diving pioneer Frédéric Dumas, the watch harkens to a capsule of dive watches that were designed explicitly for pure function and practicality in their role as pieces of diving instrumentation Dial: The bezel serves to frame an unfussy, utilitarian dial featuring round and rectangular hour markers topped with Swiss Super luminova for increased low light legibility. The oversized minute hands, serve the watch as a clear read out of time elapsed, delivering the watch as a unique piece of diver instrumentation.
- Design:
- A precise, workhorse NH35 TMI Seiko automatic self-winding movement sits inside the Dumas, offering time and date read out with its inner mechanics visible via the exhibition caseback. A robust silicon strap hugs the Dumas to the users wrist but is well suited to aftermarket bracelets, straps and Natos for extra customization. Case: With a more muscular and bold silhouette, the watch leans on more interesting, industrial like forms which captured the imagination of watch designers in the 1970s for practical as well for aesthetic reasons. A strong octagonal watch chassis is topped with mineral crystal 120 click uni-directional turning bezel with luminous calibrations. Measuring the 44mm in diameter and a thickness of 15mm the watch offers 300m of Water Resistance in a relatively compact body of marine grade stainless steel. The scratch resistant sapphire crystal lens offers durability and clarity of view.
